Group Leader: Ramon Martí Seves

Main achievements during 2018:

(I) We demonstrated the long-term efficacy of our gene therapy strategy MNGIE in a preclinical model for the AAV vector (Torres-Torronteras et al, Hum Gen Ther 2018).

(II) We reported two novel mtDNA mutations (m.8305C>T and m.4440G>A) in patients affected with mitochondrial myopathy, further expanding the mutational and phenotypic spectrum of diseases associated with mutations in mitochondrial tRNA genes (Scarpelli et al, Neuromuscul Disord 2018).

(III) We licensed our patent #15170825.2 to Modis Therapeutics, associated to the concomitant signature of a Research Agreement sponsored by the same company.
