Last 2018, we have participated in five clinical trials and fifteen research projects. The group has increased the number of publications, resulting in a mean impact factor of 5.09. In addition to previous recognitions, our unit along with Infectious Diseases and Microbiology departments have obtained CSUR accreditation from Health Ministry in tropical diseases in adult and paediatric patients”. Moreover, we have continued increased our funding obtaining international and national competitive grants such as H2020 and Health Institute Carlos III grants as well as private funding such as Jeffrey Modell Foundation. Finally, our close relationship with the patients’ associations and regional foundations brings a central role to patients and their families in conducting responsible research VP.
